White's Travel Center, Raphine, VA

Opened in 1970 as a 76 Truck Stop by Dave and Peggy White, for years White’s, named after Dave and Peggy, was one of the premier travel centers on the East coast. Peggy ran the restaurant while Dave ran the truck stop operations, receiving awards for many years. Dave White was known for his collection of antique guns and knives. White’s also sponsored Dave’s racing motorcycles.

In 1999, Orchard Creek Plaza was built and branded Exxon. Orchard Creek is a combination gift and convenience store and it also includes a Burger King franchise. In 2010, White’s Truck Stop was purchased by Bobby Berkstresser and his family. It was renamed White’s Travel Center. The facility went through extensive remodels, expanded truck parking with 200 additional spaces, and purchased 190 acres for future expansion.
